Overlooking the Mississippi, across from the casino and next to the French Quarter, this "right-by-all-the-action" mid-rise is "solid in all ways"; the "basic" rooms are small, but the beds boast "crisp linens" and "down comforters and pillows"; more "discouraging" are the "hidden" charges for valet-only parking (which "feels like a rip-off"), fridges and Internet; luckily, the "helpful service" is included.

The people were polite.
The entire hotel needs to be refurbished. the lobby is very unappealing. The room was comfortable enough, however paint on the wall was chipping and the draperies were poorly hung and wrinkled. the carpet was soiled and not throughly clean. The bathroom was so small that when you opened the door it just missed the toilet, the vanity was so low you had to bend way over to use the sink, the water temp. in the shower switched from hot to cold. Inconsistent staff response, rooms not cleaned until 5 or 6 pm until the day of departure and then they were there at 8:45.
